Wow, you sound really excited! What kind of cool summer job did you get?
"I'm gonna be working in an ice cream stand on the beach, that's what! You're probably, like, 'Why are you so excited about getting a dumb job like that?' Well, the reason I am is that working on the beach is, like, the best way to meet guys. And right now I don't have a boyfriend, which totally sucks, so this will be a great way to meet one!"
Won't you have to keep your mind on your work?
"Well, duh, it's not real hard to ask somebody how many scoops they want, and if they want 'em in a cone or in a cup, is it? Plus, I know this one girl Tori who worked at the same place last summer, and she said it was a total blast. Like, you get to wear a bikini top and short-shorts while you're working, and when you go on break you can lay out on the beach or even go swimming. I just know I'll get hit on lots, and that's the main reason I wanna work there."
Do you think it's okay for girls to flirt with guys?
"Course I do! I mean, this is 2004, and it's not like when my mom was my age or anything. But I'm used to guys coming on to me so it's really not an issue. But if I was interested in a guy and wanted him to notice me, then, yeah, I'd definitely flirt with him first!"
