"No, I'm not either one, but this girl who asked me to prom obviously is. See, the private school I go to is real progressive-that's the word my parents use to describe it-and they let any of the gay students ask their boy-friends or girlfriends to prom, just like if they were guy-girl couples. But this girl who asked me totally knows I'm not bi or lez, and she asked me to go with her to prom anyway.

"Well, at first I kind of laughed because I thought she was just kidding, but then I could tell by the look on her face that she wasn't.
