We're surprised to hear that! Why do you think you don't have a boyfriend?
"Well, it's mostly my parents, who are real strict. They wouldn't even let me date till I turned 18, which was just six months ago. So, basically, I had lots of guys asking me out in school, but I always hadda say no. There was even this one boy who I said no to twice who knocked on our front door so he could ask my dad himself if he could take me out. My dad yelled at him so bad that the guy ran away!"
But now that you're 18, you can go out with anyone you want, right?
"Yeah, but it's not that easy. See, most other girls my age have already been going out with guys for, like, two or three years. And then there's me, who doesn't have any experience with guys at all. So any guy who asks me out is probably gonna think that I've already made out and know how to tongue kiss and do oral and all that, but I don't. And that would be, like, totally embarrassing for me to admit to any guy I like!"
How are you going to find a boyfriend if you're afraid of even going out with a guy?
"I know, I know, it all sounds silly but, to me, it's a real problem. Leah-she's my best friend-says that I should just be honest and tell the guy who I go out with that I don't have any experience making out and that he's gonna have to show me what to do and how to do it. But what if the guy doesn't want the hassle of teaching me? I mean, there are lots of girls my age who are already having full sex, and then there's me, who doesn't even know how to tongue kiss!"
